Meet the Moms Leading Retykle

IWD Special: The Moms Powering Retykle

Armelle Liverton, Director of Retykle UAE, is one of the incredible moms behind Retykle's mission to bring sustainable fashion to families worldwide. With eight years of experience at Retykle, from Hong Kong to Dubai, she’s now helping expand the brand’s circular fashion solution in the Middle East. As a mom of two girls, Armelle’s journey is a true reflection of the passion and energy that mothers like her bring to Retykle every day. In this special International Women’s Day feature, Armelle shares how she’s balancing motherhood with her work to make fashion more sustainable and empowering the next generation along the way.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your role at Retykle?

A: I'm the Director of Retykle UAE, leading the brand's launch in our newest market. As we expand to the Middle East, my role is to grow our community of parents who want to make more sustainable choices—without compromising on quality or convenience. I first joined Retykle eight years ago in Hong Kong, just after the birth of my first daughter, Thea, and I've worn many hats in the business since. After moving back to Dubai with my family two years ago, I'm incredibly excited to bring our circular solution to the UAE and help reshape the future of kids' fashion.

Q: What does International Women’s Day mean to you?

A: International Women’s Day is about celebrating the incredible women in the world today who strive endlessly to achieve their goals—while honouring those who paved the way before us. It's a day to recognise our collective power, resilience, and the progress we're still working towards.

Q: In what ways do you feel like you’re making an impact—not just as a professional, but as a woman and a mom?

A: I've always wanted to work for a purpose-driven business creating meaningful impact. Being part of Retykle means contributing to a more sustainable fashion future and helping build a better planet for our children. As a mom of two girls, I'm deeply conscious of the women I'm raising—guiding them to be ambitious and adventurous, but equally kind and grounded human beings.

Q: How do you think women, or mothers, play a role in driving sustainability?

A: Women and girls are at the heart of driving sustainability because they are often the most impacted by climate change. In many communities, especially in lower-income countries, women are highly dependent on local natural resources for their livelihoods. To quote the UN, empowering women and girls is key to climate action because:

  1. Women are environmental stewards,
  2. Women are the backbone of resilience,
  3. Women are agents of change.
Whether through the daily choices we make at home or by leading global movements, women have a unique power to drive positive change.

Q: What’s your hope for the next generation of women and moms in business?

A: That they feel empowered to discover their passions and pursue their dreams—without hindrance, in whatever shape or form that may look like.

Q: Favourite brands to recommend for sustainable children’s clothing?

A: My favourite brands that combine style, durability, and eco-consciousness — perfect for building a more sustainable wardrobe for your children are Bonpoint, Stella McCartney, Louise Misha, Chloe and Jacadi.
